Directions
The documenta archiv is situated at the Untere Karlsstraße 4, Kassel within the building of the Kulturhaus Dock4. This former school is a listed building. A step free access is at the court yard side of the building.
With public transport:
Take trams 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, RT1, RT4 up to Friedrichsplatz. Walk across Friedrichplatz towards the Museum Fridericianum. Turn left into Untere Karlsstraße which is the road before the museum. The first building on the right hand side is the Kulturhaus Dock4.
By car:
Coming either from the highway A7 or A44 via junction A49 towards Kassel. Take junction “Auestadion / City Center” follow the road signs towards the center of the city. Turn left after the theater (Staatstheater) into the road Oberste Gasse. After a 100 meters turn left into a small road Seidenes Strümpfchen, at the end of the road turn left again and you have arrived in Untere Karlsstraße.
Parking Options
There is a car park at Friedrichsplatz, with an entry at Frankfurter Straße towards the Fridericianum. After the Cine-Star use the left hand drive to reach the underground car park. Another entry is situated between the Staatstheater and the documenta hall, reachable via Du-Ry-Straße, take Brüderstraße or Steinweg.
