It is with great sorrow that we have learnt of the passing of Floris M. Neusüss. He followed an appointment as lecturer for photography at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and dedicated his time there especially to experimental photography. In 1972 he founded the Fotoforum Kassel, that was devoted to concept photography.
He showed his connection to the documenta archiv at a very early stage and repeatedly donated parts of his archive to it, comprising of extensive convolutes and photographs. Among them are the important, large-format portraits of Arnold Bode and Joseph Beuys, which were taken on the occasion of documenta 5, 1972.
Floris M. Neusüss died on April 1 in Kassel.
